Logos

The U.Va. Library logo is an essential part of the Library’s visual identity. It appears on all Library material.

The Library logo is designed to fit within the University’s overall graphics identity (it was created by the same designer). There are two versions: stacked and horizontal. The stacked version is the one used most often; the horizontal logo is used in spaces where vertical space is limited.

On most materials the logo will appear in white on a blue or orange background. It can also appear in U.Va. Blue or simply black on a white or light background.

It’s important not to change the color of the logo or alter it in any way. Please contact the Communications group with any questions concerning logo use.

Please download versions of the U.Va. Blue or black Library logos below. If you feel you need a logo in a different color, please contact Communications.

Co-branding

Occasionally, the Library will partner with other units, such as ITS, to sponsor an event. This is the only time that another logo should be used on Library materials. Please do not create logos for your department or community—this type of specific branding is addressed with the U.Va. Library Ribbon. Please contact the Communications group if you need a new ribbon created or need help with your co-sponsor branding.
